We welcome Tommy to the Bayswood Training Team

The Training Team welcomes Tommy to Bayswood Care, as he takes up the part time position of Trainer/Assessor specifically for our Dane View home in Leicester. Tommy brings in his valuable experience as a trainer for private ambulance companies and delivering first aid courses for adults.

Dane View staff can expect to meet Tommy very quickly as he gets stuck into his extensive list of training aims for the home. Tommy will be training or assessing competencies ranging from ‘manual handling’ through to ‘venipuncture training’.

Group Training Manager, Sarah, says, ‘I am delighted that Tommy is joining our training team, that now numbers four. Tommy’s main goal will be to fast track more Level 2 and 3 RQFs Diplomas (previously NVQs) among the carers. Building up competencies and knowledge go hand in hand with the improvements Dane View is making in care provision.’

Tommy is a proud native of Leicester and supports both Leicester Tigers and Leicester City. Tommy and his partner have a 10-week-old baby who, Tommy is pleased to report, has settled into good and regular sleeping patterns. Tommy has a daughter too, who he takes to watch Leicester Tigers.

Tommy says, ‘I have worked in care for a long time and enjoy the challenge. I get a massive amount of satisfaction, particularly helping the development of people – there is nothing better!’
