From visitor to reception – Dane View welcomes Tracey to the team

If visitors to Dane View think they recognise our new receptionist, they would be right.

During most of 2022, Dane View’s new receptionist, Tracey, was a regular face around Dane View, visiting her mum, who was a resident. Sadly, Tracey’s mum passed in December 2022, and that might have been the end of Tracey’s association with Dane View – but Fate had other ideas …

Tracey kept in touch with Dane View’s Home Manager, Rebecca, and a few weeks ago the subject of Dane View needing a new receptionist arose during one of their conversations. Tracey was looking for a change of direction after years of work for Leicester Council, solicitors and an accountancy firm, plus five years as a PA in a wealth management firm. With such an impressive CV, Rebecca was able to offer Tracey the receptionist job.

Tracey admits that the home seems much bigger than she remembered it. Tracey didn’t have to see the entire building when her mum was a resident and was surprised by the scale of Dane View on coming back and seeing the entire building as a member of staff. Tracey says, ‘Getting to know the home from the inside, I can see more clearly the amount of work and responsibility the staff have. It’s impressive and I am happy to be part of such a great team!’

Home Manager, Rebecca says, ‘Tracey is the ideal receptionist, and not just because of her great experience. Tracey understands what it feels like for families to visit and can see things from a visitor's perspective. Tracey has a friendly and supportive approach and is the ideal “front of house” representative for Dane View.’

Finally, Tracey would like to extend her best wishes to all residents and their relatives for the rest of the festive period and new year! ‘See you all in 2024,’ she says.
